These are scholarship opportunities available to LHS students. See your school counselor or Mrs. Baker if you have any questions.

The Pittman Scholarship for LHS Seniors

To be eligible for the Pittman Scholarship, you must be entering Eastern Michigan University this coming Fall Semester after commencement. This scholarship will be awarded to an LHS student.

The Dejanovich Scholarship for LHS Seniors

Qualified applicants must attend a post-secondary college or trade school and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Return this application to Mrs. Baker in the LHS Counseling office with the following:

Letter of recommendation from one teacher.
A letter to Mr. Dejanovich or an essay outlining career goals after high school.
An acceptance letter from the college/university you plan on attending.

The recipients of this award will be announced at the LHS Honors Convocation on May 22, 2024.

The Hallie Richardson Scholarship for LHS Seniors

This scholarship is for Lincoln High School seniors graduating with the class of 2024.

Requirements:
Submit this application with the following items to Mrs. Baker in the LHS Counseling Office.
1. Students must attend a post-secondary college or trade school during Fall 2024.
2. Two letters of recommendation. One from a teacher and one from a religious leader.
3. List any service which you have given to the community, such as church, scouts, or any other community/school group(s) you have belonged to.
4. a 400-word essay on "The Importance of Community Service".

The recipients of this award will be announced at the LHS Honors Convocation on May 22, 2024.

Ileen Pickrem Memorial Scholarship for LHS Seniors

Ileen Pickrem was a 1927 Lincoln High School graduate. She served her country as a member of the Women's Army Corps (WAC) in World War II and registered electrolysist. She was a volunteer at the railroad museum. She passed away at the age of 90 in 2009. In her honor, LHS is offering a $1000.00 scholarship to Lincoln High School graduating seniors.

Tammy Sperle Memorial Scholarship for LHS Student Athletes

History: In February of 1996, Tammy Sperle was brutally murdered by an inmate while employed at the Huron Valley Correctional Facility. Tammy was survived by her husband and two sons who Graduated from Lincoln High School and participated in numerous sporting activities. Since 1997 Funds have been raised at the annual Tammy Sperle Memorial Golf Scramble for a scholarship in her name. Each year a $1000.00 scholarship is awarded to one male and one female scholar athlete based on academics and athletics. The scholarships are given by friends and family to honor Tammy’s love and dedication to Lincoln Athletics.

Eligibility:

Students must attend a college or university in the following year.
Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Athletes must have participated in at least one sport per year for all four years.
Athlete shall have no infractions per Athletic Code.

Requirements:

An essay describing "how high school sports have affected your life". (1page min-3 page max)
A letter of recommendation from a teacher.
GPA of at least a 3.0 or higher

MACAC Maggie Miller Student Scholarship

This scholarship is a testament to the indelible legacy of Maggie Miller, a legendary counselor, compassionate educator, and fervent advocate for college education. Maggie's unwavering dedication to her students and her profound belief in their potential continue to inspire us all. Throughout her illustrious career spanning over 30 years, Maggie touched the lives of countless students, instilling in them the values of character, service, achievement, and integrity. Her infectious spirit, boundless energy, and mantra of "Never Give Up" resonated deeply with all who knew her.

In honor of Maggie's enduring impact, the MACAC Maggie Miller Student Scholarship aims to support exceptional students from our MACAC Member high schools who are embarking on their journey to higher education at a MACAC or NACAC member post-secondary institution.

Key Criteria for Eligibility:

*Must be a high school senior at a MACAC Member High School.
*Plan to attend a MACAC or NACAC member post-secondary institution.
*Attain a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.2.
*Share any financial need so it may be considered.
*Submit an essay or video as described on the application.

Each MACAC member high school is invited to forward two applications for consideration. Email Mrs. Baker in the LHS Counseling Department for a copy of the application @ baker@lincolnk12.org. Winners will be announced in early June 2024.

Michigan Achievement Scholarship

Starting with the high school class of 2023, students will be eligible for more financial aid from the State:

Up to $2,750 if they attend a community college, per year
Up to $5,500 if they attend a public university, per year
Up to $4,000 if they attend a private college or university, per year

Students will be eligible if their family demonstrates financial need* when they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

*Financial need is defined as an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $25,000 or less.

High school seniors can get started by following these steps:

File the FAFSA.
Create an MiSSG Student Portal account three to five business days after filing your FAFSA.

MICHIGAN ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP WEBINARS

High school students and families interested in learning more about the Michigan Achievement Scholarship are encouraged to register for an informational webinar provided by Michigan Department of Treasury’s MI Student Aid team.

All sessions are free of charge and open to the public.

Tuition Incentive Program

A program for eligible students who have or have had Michigan Medicaid coverage for 24 months within a 36-month consecutive month period (between age nine and high school graduation) as identified by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).

Note: TIP expires six years after high school completion or four years if no award is received.
